I've had that issue and had to shut off Bluetooth on the watch and just have the watch connect to Wifi. That usually solved it for me. From time to time I get this problem on my G Watch R as well. Unfortunately, lately the only thing that solves it is doing a factory reset on the watch, and then pairing and installing everything back, download pending on android wear. Major pain.
